I had gastric bypass surgery four years ago and my relationship with my husband has never been better. I find that divorce rates increasing after the surgery to be a bit surprising. I would have to agree with you that having a good surgeon with good support if defiantly key when having this surgery. My doctor Dr. Marina Kurian helped me throughout the whole process and I am forever greatful. You should really check out her website at http://www.noobesity.com there is some great info on there for anyone who may be thinking about getting the procedure done.

Amber, thanks so much for you kind words. Jackie is not going to give up on this. If we have to take out a second mortgage on the house then so be it. This is more important than a little money.

You guys can always help by putting a link out on various forums or other places you may visit. I’m hoping I can build up enough content on this site to earn some of the money to pay for this procedure. Right now its avergaing about 5 bucks a day so its looking kind of grim. I’ll keep working and see what happens. I’ve got to find a place to get some more links to the site and that will help a lot.Â Perhaps I need to just buy some links, but then that cuts into the money for the weight loss surgery.

I hired a writer to write some new articles for the site and hopefully that will help with some search engine traffic. I want Jackie to write some, but she is just so tired that its hard on her. Her job is changing starting tonight and she won’t have to be on her feet so much, so hopefully that will help.

She is a fairly decent writer, at least in my humble opinion, and I think you guys will really like what she has to say once she starts typing on the keyboard.

Thanks Kim, This actually happens to a lot of people its a well known fact that losing excess body weight greatly improves a person’s health and a lot fo time reduces other health related problems such as diabetes, or heart disease, so it would seem that it would be in the best interest of the Insurance companies to pay for the procedure.

I wish you the best. I can totaly agree with youy decision to try and do this without weight loss surgery as that is probably the best method, but if its not possible then surgery may be an option.

For a lot of people this does seem to be the only effective option for effectively losing the weight. There are a lot of things that contribute to obesity and they are not always internal to the person. Outside influences from society and friends can have an impact too. Make sure you suround yourself with positive influences and turn off the TV for 6 months

Hi Bruce I am so sorry you got denied. I too have considered the surgery. But I am gonna try to loose on my own first over the next 6 months. If nothing happens I will revisit this option. I will pray that you and your wife come up with the extra needed funds.

Hi Bruce,

Pleased to meet you. As I mentioned before, I’m in Canada so our procedures can be paid by healthcare. I have to wait for my date but it’s worth it. There are enough additional expenses day to day.
