skin repair indicates many different things. This is due to the fact that there are many ways to get damaged skin. Every type of skin damage is different. You will be able to get the best skin repair if you carefully select the right treatment.

You can see some common types of skin damage below:

* Weathering is a type of damage * Wrinkling is a frequently seen type of skin damage * Scarring is a type of damage * Discoloration is a frequently seen type of skin damage * Breakouts and inflammation are common

Some of these types of damage only need to be treated with common products. Others require unique and specific treatments. For example, treating a breakout can cause wrinkles if you do not take care. Conversely, the things that may repair wrinkling may also cause breakouts if not used with proper care. Scarring requires unique treatments that are independent from all of these.

One of the most important parts of any skin repair regimen is staying hydrated. A good moisturizer will both plump wrinkles and smooth weathering. A good moisturizer is also a good way to deal with the dryness that accompanies acne treatments. However, you will need to tailor your moisturizer to your needs. People prone to breakouts or with discoloration issues should select an oil-free moisturizer. Anti-aging requires a moisturizer with more than traditional ingredients (water, aloe, glycierin) in order to be effective.

You will get the best results lightening scars with vitamins. They can add to an anti-aging routine also, but may complicate breakouts. Vitamins A, C and E can really improve the state of your skin. Try topical applications also but be careful with sensitive skin. Some types of vitamins make you very sensitive to the sun so take care when dosing or applying.

When it comes to fixing weathering, skin repair can get complicated. Exfoliation is a good way to diminish signs of scarring and other types of weathering. This process involves removing dead skin and stimulating the growth of new skin. Patience is critical with this skin repair because it takes time to get results. Exfoliating more than twice a week can lead to chronic skin problems.

Skin repair, as you can see, is quite diverse. Lots of treatments can be used in conjunction. In order to resolve all your skin issues effectively, you will need to carefully adjust your skin repair routine.

So How Can I Look Younger?

December 21, 2009 · Filed Under health · Comment

How does one make him or herself younger?  Well, there are various steps I can take to look younger, some more important than others. When we say, “How can I look younger?”, we’re usually always talking about our face. The first & most obvious step is to stay out of the sun. We all know the sun can cause major damage & even cancer! Too much sun also causes us to develop “crows feet”… One of the main things that causes us to look old.

If you have already gotten crows feet, then you need to take steps to diminish them. The first thing to do is to wash your face every morning and night with a gentle exfoliating cleanser. This will thoroughly clean your skin, reduce the size of your pores, & leave your skin fresh and oil free. After cleansing your skin you then want to apply a face moisturizer. This will keep your face smooth, shiny looking, and at the same time will rehydrate the skin so it starts to renew itself.

By far the most important step in cleansing your face is to use a very good (and usually expensive) eye cream. Eye creams are specifically for the outer edges of your eyes, exactly where crows feet develop. They are the single most important area of the face that needs the most attention. It’s where, almost literally, the suns rays collect & sit to do the most damage to your face. Besides the creams and washes, remember to buy a decent pair of sunglasses. They are worth their weight in gold!

After cleansing your face, pour a dime size amount onto your fingertips and apply to the crows feet area by dabbing the ream on, all while using an upward type “brush” type stroke. This will make sure you cover the whole area and it will also ensure some cream is left on the very top of the lines to serve as maximum protection.

I hope you found this helpful and will start your process to becoming younger looking today! Besides taxes, the only other thing we cannot run from is getting older! But, if we take the time to lean how to take care of ourselves, and we do it consistently, we can slow the aging process, which in turn makes a lot of other things go up!

Results that end with a new sense of confidence in yourself!

Skin Care And Sunscreens, Or Why Sun Protection Is A Huge Part Of An Anti Aging Routine

December 20, 2009 · Filed Under health · Comment

Whilst you can’t prevent getting older there are some big factors in skin aging that you can prevent. Skin aging is caused by a combination of factors, and one of the biggest is sun damage. So if you want the best skin care, sunscreen is a huge part of that, but only a part.

It’s the ultraviolet radiation in sunlight that causes the damage. There is both UVA and UVB in sunlight, and it is the UVB radiation that burns your skin. But it is insufficient merely to stop the UVB radiation.

The reason is that UVA radiation, although it doesn’t burn, is much more important to skin aging and also causes many skin cancers including some of the worst.

There is no requirement from the FDA for the labelling on sunscreens to tell us how much UVA protection is in any product. As a result in the summer of 2008 there were only 29 percent of sunscreens with UVA protection included. That rose to 70 percent one year later however that still left 30 percent of products with no UVA protection. And no UVA protection can lead to skin cancer and premature skin aging.

And as there is no requirement for labelling it is difficult to tell from the label how much protection your sunscreen really offers. If you have premature skin aging then sun damage from UVA exposure may well be the cause even if you have used sunscreen carefully to avoid skin sun damage.

And even worse, there are ingredients in sunscreens like oxybenzone which is known to work as a hormone disruptor and may even cause skin cancer. And there are also ingredients in some sunscreens that can reduce the effectiveness of the product.

Consumers ought to be able to expect that their sunscreen will prevent skin sun damage such as sunburn, premature skin aging and skin cancer, however that is currently not the case and you ought to choose your sunscreen extremely carefully.

And sun protection isn’t just about using a sunscreen. In fact the first method of sun protection that you turn to should be to avoid going out in the sun during the middle of the day in the summer, or to use a long sleeved shirt and hat if you do. Sunscreen is only necessary where unavoidable.

As they age many men and women become more interested in anti aging skin care. However most fail to realize that preventing sun damage is one of the biggest things you can do for better skin care. Make a promise to yourself today that, starting today, you will avoid skin sun damage, and if you combine that promise with the use of the best anti aging products there are then you’re well on your way to an effective anti aging skin care routine.

There are certainly some very good anti aging products, (and some ineffective ones), and using these can help reverse skin ageing, but preventing sun damage is one of the most important things you can do to combat wrinkles and skin sagging in older age.
