The Stand-Up Lifesource Blood Pressure Monitor UA-853AC – One Real Workhorse of a Monitor
Some of you, that follow my reviews, may have already figured out that blood pressure monitor reviews are one of my favorite products to report on. Being a long time member of the medical product review community, I know all too well, how dangerous not being proactive about your health can be. I like to call this HCL (Health Care Laziness), and far more people are guilty of it than would like to admit.
Many older people depend on blood pressure monitors to maintain good cardiovascular health. It is not, therefore, so much that I enjoy reviewing blood pressure monitors, as it is knowing how absolutely vital they can be for so many people. In fact, I honestly believe that no home should be without a blood pressure monitor.
Well enough small talk, let’s review the Lifesource UA-853AC Stand-Up Blood Pressure Monitor. Because I travel a lot, I like to review the more portable type BP monitors. Nonetheless, I have to admit that the larger monitors, like the UA-853AC are more accurate and have more features. This monitor does everything and more that you can ask from a home pressure monitor.
The Lifesource UA-853AC Stand-Up Blood Pressure Monitor is a rock, and as dependable or accurate as any model we have tested. It is not on the cheaper end of the BP monitor spectrum; however, it isn’t expensive either. If you consider all of the features offered by this monitor, then it is definitely one of the better values available.
Most important of the units many features is the invaluable Irregular Heartbeat Detection technology, found in this Lifesource monitor. IHD warns users about possible arrhythmia issues. Patterns detected by the machine can be discussed with a doctor to determine on how to proceed with diagnosis or treatment. I cannot begin to tell how very important this feature could prove for many people who suffer arrhythmia conditions. In only a few years, the IHD technology has already saved countless lives with early detection. The earlier a condition is detected and diagnosed, the better the chances are for a positive result.
Another very useful feature of this particular monitor is the TimeWise system of automatically differentiating between morning and evening BP readings. The Lifesource monitor can also tell you the averages for both morning and evening readings. This is very helpful in examining dosage levels. If you take medication for hypertension, then you know that morning and evening dosages will often times vary. Physicians love to see this type of reporting when meeting with patients for a check-up or evaluation.
The Lifesource monitor will also remind you to take your medication with audible alarms that can be programmed for three alerts a day. The Lifesource UA-853AC will also store results for your last ninety blood pressure checks. These logging and reporting results, enable your doctor better gauge the effectiveness of any potential medications. The display is very large and extremely easy to read (you won’t be reaching for your reading glasses for this one), and display results are easy to understand.
The unit is of solid construction and very durable in its design. Lifesource offers a very generous lifetime warranty on the unit as well.
On the whole, the Lifesource Monitor UA-853AC is a premium quality Blood Pressure Monitor that gives you everything you would expect and more. Because of the size of the monitor, you probably won’t find it very suitable for quick trips; however, it will fit easily in large bags or suitcases.
With reasonable care and use, this Lifesource Monitor will provide you with years of quality and accurate Blood Pressure Results. The UA-853AC unit is moderately priced and is well worth the money. There is nothing fancy here; but nothing lacking either. It is a workhorse!
